A 1.8-meter bed is standard on the S, SV and SL trims, while the PRO-4X trim has the choice of the 1.8-meter bed or a shorter 1.5-meter bed. A low-rising front end and swelling wheel flares give the Frontier a subtle prominence on the roadways. Nissan's available Utili-track Channel System makes it easy to secure cargo in the bed, while allowing for options such as a Sliding Tool Box, Sliding Bed Divider, and a Sliding Bed Extender for increased capacity and better cargo management. Even without the Utili-track system, a fixed tool box is available to secure your tools in the parking lots or on work sites, and a bedliner is available to protect your bed from cargo and the elements. Heated exterior mirrors prevent ice and snow buildup, while an available power sliding glass moonroof with one-touch open and close lets in the sun and breeze when the weather is nice.
Seating for either four or five passengers is available in the 2016 Nissan Frontier, depending on whether you choose the King or Crew Cab, respectively. Cloth seat trim is standard, with the PRO-4X receiving upgraded cloth or embroidered leather-appointed seating while the SL features leather-appointed seating. Headroom is generous throughout, with 1,010 millimeters or more in the front and over 970 millimeters in the rear on all models. Legroom is also solid, with 1,076 millimeters in the front seats. Available heated front seats will cut the chill on a winter day, while dual zone automatic temperature control allows passengers to adjust the climate to their liking. Bluetooth lets you stay in touch while keeping your hands on the wheel. NissanConnect with Mobile Apps allows you to stay even more connected with the world while you are on the road, while the Nissan Navigation System featuring a colour 14.7cm touchscreen monitor is available. Select from four, six, or ten speakers for the audio system, which at higher trims is a premium Rockford Fosgate-powered system. SiriusXM and streaming audio via Bluetooth is available, as is a USB connection port, while an auxiliary input jack is standard on all systems.
Capable and Efficient Power Trains
With two different engines on offer, as well as the choice of manual or automatic transmission and two-or four-wheel-drive, the 2016 Nissan Frontier has highly flexible offerings. Maximum payload comes in at 652 kilograms, while the Frontier can tow up to 2,948 kilograms when properly equipped. For off-road prowess, the PRO-4X trim includes a Dana 44 rear axle, electronic locking rear differential, hill-descent control and hill-start assist, and skid plates for the oil pan, fuel tank, and transfer case. It also features mud- and snow-rated all season tires for enhanced traction.
